Agreed. You’re right about the sales page. It misrepresents what the book contains. If it was marketed as a basic beginners guide to SEO, fair enough. But it’s not. It even says it has “nothing to do with SEO”.

Beginners would find it confusing and contradictory; links don’t matter, but pages and pages devoted to getting them, using methods that, as you say, have been around for years.

On the whole I found it to be overpriced, poorly-written, waffle. Nice to read an honest review amongst the affiliate-driven hype.

Okinawa … you can find a lot but not all of the information on forums. The nice things about Aaron Wall’s SEO BOOK is that everything is nicely laid out and structured for you. It is also frequently updated. cheers.

Might i interrupt? the Googlesnatch “free click formula” is there in the book. It’s about recognizing the importance of social networks for getting traffic. And it does offer interesting tactics and strategies. Now, social networking was practically a inexistent in the 90’s, so i think you were a little harsh when you said the tactics described in googlesnatch are 20 years old.

I’m sorry but you may have misread my review, I state that some of the strategies have been implemented since the LATE 1990s, as in 1998/99 which is 10 years old not 20 as you state. Additionally, unless there is a revised version of the google snatch ebook, the one I reviewed focuses primarily at Latent Symantec Indexing (LSI), site structure and page content, a concept that has been around for a significantly long time. It also focuses on link building strategies using web directories which again has been around for at least 4 or 5 years.

With that been said, I do respect your opinion, thanks for taking the time to leave your thoughts.

I couldn’t agree more, the site just jam packed with flossy, florid punctuations and anecdotal overkill. I’m impressed with the super long sales page, as with all 2-meter long minisites that simply have a BUY NOW button at the very end, sandwiched by paragraph after paragraph of overdriven hype. i think the real secret is there is no secret, everything is laid out on the table. nothing i didnt already know

I have to agree. The techniques expanded upon do work, and have for years now, but the way it’s presented –it turned out to not be what I was expecting. It was full of information that I already had learned elsewhere. Maybe I missed the “secret?” I definitely would NOT recommend wasting money on it.

Sorry, but GS is NOT about “recognizing the importance of social networks for getting traffic”. Unless it’s been rewritten completely since I bought it, no social marketing tactics were discussed at all. I suspect you have a misunderstanding of what social marketing is. If you want to learn about building links, rankings, relationships and traffic using social media, GS is NOT the place to do it.

You know what? I feel like crying now. Not only because I’ve already bought this ebook, but the hurt comes from the fact that I’ve laboureously spent hours I didn’t really have to painstakingly read the book. And in the hope of implementing the techniques on my website. After reading all the comments here, and this great review, I now feel duped. I was getting all excited about the possibilty of attracting loads of targeted visitors to my site. I must say you’re absolutely right about one thing about the book, it’s very confusing as I found him(Latif) contradicting himself few times which has prompted me emailing him for clarifications. Thanks for your insight. My search for great techniques continues.

I was already using most of these conventional ideas somewhat independent of each other, but did not ever connect the dots, and implement them into the strategy we now use at Google Snatch Strategist, I was leaving thousands on the table, NO, thats not really true…I was still paying thousands a year to Google Adwords PPC until I started to follow the complete Google Snatch Strategy in mid 2007……my profits online have since increased exponentially since I was no longer helping Googles efforts in boosting their profits online.

PS: Most strategys do not work unless completely implemented and followed through on, so a lot of negative reviews are based on “This is too simple to work, so I will just do this part”

I got on the list for google snatch and recently he released a mini copy with limited pages.

This actually caused me not to buy the book. Mainly because of the writing style (as many have commented on above).

I actually found this review because I was searching Google for Google Snatch. Not if the tecniques actually did work you would find the Google Snatch website on at least the first page of google search right.

Now I’m going to have a look at SEO Book and see where it stands.

If your SEO Methods work you should be right there in the top right?

The the adverts promoting the e-book Google Snatch makes claims about it providing blueprints and step-by-step processes in making money on the net. Unfortunately the book is convoluted, repetitive, and doesn’t have any structure. I couldn’t see it helping anyone. AND…they phoned me to get me to be one their success stories if I would pay $5000 for mentorship. I refused and explained what thought of the book and the agent simply repeated “that it works because you bought from us.” Waste of time and money!

For those that have bought it why dont you just take advantage of the 56 day money back guarantee? With clickbank products its dead easy, just enter the email you bought it through and the 8 digit clickbank reference you were sent when you purchased the item to get a refund. Ive done this with several ebooks now because they simply didnt deliver what they promised.
